Romain Strock

Hi, I'm Romain Strock.

I am passionate about science & technology and I have over 10 years of experience working in data science, ML & software engineering.

I am currently doing a PhD in computational biology at Imperial College in the London institute of medical sciences, part-time, while supporting myself with data science & ML contracting (hire me).

Alma mater – MSc Machine Learning from UCL.

I occasionally blog about biology, AI, software engineering, or anything piquing my interest at the moment.

Recent post – Modeling uncertainty with PyTorch, where I explore how to parametrize a probability distribution with a neural network for the purpose of estimating uncertainty surrounding ML predictions.

Open source – Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy (CMA-ES): a TensorFlow implementation of the state-of-the-art evolutionary algorithm for challenging continuous optimization problems.
